Basic Commission FireFighter Course

Introduction:

The Houston Community College System is certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a licensed Fire Fighter training academy. Graduates receive 26 college credits and classes are offered only at the Northeast campus.

2009 School Year

Structural Firefighting Classes begin:

All Orientation Classes will be held at the Northeast Campus, 555 Community College Dr.

Orientation for Online Classes starts February 9, 2009 5-6 p.m.

Online Classes begin February 16, 2009

Orientation for Day Classes starts June 1, 2009 6-8 p.m.

Day Classes begin July 13, 2009

Orientation for Evening Classes starts May 4, 2009 6-8 p.m.

Evening Classes begin June 8, 2009

This program is designed to be taken in the classroom and also covers all necessary curriculum requirements of NFPA 1002 (Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional qualifications, and TCFP).
